The Fisherman's Pizzeria Story... Although the name may sound catchy or even a bit fishy, we are asked frequently, where did our name come from? Years ago, two brothers, Tom and Chuck, while fishing on an old abandoned pier, were inspired to build a restaurant and called it Sinbad's Pier 2. Many customers quickly developed a liking for it's many seafood delicacies and spectacular view. However several local fishermen who frequented the restaurant requested Italian Pizza as they were tired of the "smell of fish" all day long. Thus, Chuck and Tom suggested that their younger brother Duane open up a much needed "pizza" restaurant on Fisherman's Wharf and it soon became a hit with not only the fishermen, but other locals and visitors too!

Duane eventually joined his brothers at Sinbad's while a fourth brother stepped in to family business here at Fisherman's Pizzeria. Many years later, we are still serving what many believe to be the finest pizza in San Francisco. New and old visitors can enjoy our crispy and flavorful homemade, hand-spun crust along with a family recipe for sauce, and topped with the finest cheese and fresh toppings your sure to enjoy.

To this day, Fisherman's Pizzeria has grown to be a distinct favorite among locals as well as tourists from the U.S. and around the world. Oh, just one last thing... if you're a first time customer, yes - we do indeed, believe that fish and pizza do go together- with or without shrimp and anchovies.
