The word "Gallimaufry" is a Shakespearean word meaning a collection of things. It is an apropos name for this mixture of treasures. Since 1975 Chicagoans have found an array of shopping options at this craft gallery. The craftwork includes jewelry. You will find handcrafted cameo pins and pendants, sterling silver and 14 karat gold earrings and rings (including some truly unique wedding bands) as well as necklaces and bracelets set with amber, garnet and lapis. They also have an extensive collection of jewelry boxes in wood or stained glass to put them in. Gallimaufry Gallery

On the more practical side are hand crafted pottery: mugs, bowls, casserole dishes, Art Glass perfume bottles, paperweights and vases. Kaleidoscopes are another of the art forms that come to life here, with over twenty kaleidoscope artists represented. There are also handmade instruments-- drums from Tunisia, thumb pianos from West Virginia and ocarinas from Massachusetts (this also might be the only place in town to buy a nose whistle or an authentic pennywhistle).
